I am helping a friend with a rigblaster advantage. We bought the optional cable to use the rig in true RTTY mode and fsk. We can not get this thing to send in rtty mode. I have done everything I can think of and followed the instructions in the manual and no dice. I understand by the instructions that the radio is still keying thru the mic connection and it seems to key but no fsk.
Anyone out here have one of these thats working that wouldnt mind sharing your settings. We are also using west mountains port program and split the ports so we have rig control with our logging program also. My next move is to build a cable like I did for my proIII and to do everything from Accy 1 in the back of the rig and have this guy sell the rigblaster. People buy these because they are supposed to be easy to set up but they find later they are not taking advantage of the rtty filtering in the rig in ssb or ssb d.
By the way i did call west mountain and the guy pretty much told me the info i needed was in the manual. Yes it is but it still doesnt work. Any help would be appreciated. Dave N8DC. It works everything. If you are going to use Radio command to key PTT remember older Icom radios do not support PTT via radio command, for a list of Icom radios that do and those that do not control PTT via radio command, click here , click on the Radio command button. Then go to the bottom of the screen and select which type of radio you are using.
Note: Most radios will probably communicate using baud, 8 bits, 1 stop pit, and parity none. Click OK which brings you back to Setup. Connect your radio to a dummy load. Turn your Power output control all the way up and your Mic Gain all the way down. Put your radio in the LSB position and make sure your speech processor is turned off. Diddles are a term used for RTTY being transmitted in an idle state.
If you hear diddles, you are off to a great start. You are transmitting RTTY. This includes: harm to minors, violence or threats, harassment or privacy invasion, impersonation or misrepresentation, fraud or phishing.

I am going around in a circle.
In some radios -- like the Icom -- there is one Key input that functions as either a straight key or keyer paddle input as a function of a menu setting in the radio. In order for WinWarbler to generate CW for transmission by your D, you will need a second serial port, a level converter, a cable from the second serial port to the level converter's input, and a cable from the level converter's output to your D's straight key input.
Oh my brain hurts Tom! Smoky - W3PY. Dave thanks! Mine works that way too Dave. AA6YQ comments below In dxlab yahoogroups. Are you sure you wish to delete this message from the message archives of DXLab groups.
